On a spiritual level...I have always been a bit heathen, then joyfully discovered that magick IS real when I found Paganism some 16 years ago...with my BFF Ginger,we co-founded/co-lead the Appalachian Pagan Alliance(APA) to foster understanding among all flavors of Pagans, Wiccans, Witches, and other  non-Pagan faiths as well. APA sponspors open Pagan celebrations such as May 1(May Day), complete with a  Maypole! Everyone can come SEE what happens--and what does NOT happen--at a gathering. We participate in Asheville's Annual Earth Religions Awareness Week, do guest lectures about Earth Religions to college classes/groups on request,  join in other group rituals such as an Ancestor Remembrance Ritual on October31st. APA has a Yahoo group for anyone anywhere;  a website as well: http://www.angelfire.com/nb/appalachianpagan/index.html.

LUXOR, ROME, CAIRO, & GIZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi folks!

I know I'm ahead of myself with the pics, but I'd been to Egypt before and Rome is just so DAMN BEAUTIFUL! I HAD to start with pics from there, though the itinerary was as above.

Our hotel, a 200+ year-old family owned place caled Il Cielo, was a perfect jewel-box place. It was small, which is usual for Europe (as I understood from guide books) but perfect in every detail.......like a tiny Biltmore House. And we could see the Collosueum from our windows; it was barely a block away.

This wonderful view, and a few more like it, are what I've been up to in early March! Then I had to do some serious recovery! This Trevi Fountain pic is quite still compared to midday! And the fountain is HUGE!!!! Everywhere was thr ever-present gelato. It really isthe best dessert in Italy.

Many cafe's that we saw and enjoyed meals in were out doors or had both in and outdoor seating. It was nice just people-watching with a cappucino, which we did in from of the Pantheon.

Unfortunately, the Vatican was closed, so we didn't get to go there, but did see the Capitoline museum.

I'll post more later as I get more of my personal pics uploaded..........try Empressginger at Webshots as well!

Snow in the South

WITCHYS WIKKED GRAPHIX

WITCHYS WIKKED GRAPHIX

Merry Meet, All..................

A snow day in the South......look out! Panic, chaos, confusion.....you can find that in abundance here. Just try finding any bread or milk, lol!I'm from the South; a GRITS to the bone, but I've never once panicked over any bad weather. But, if the forecast even hints at the "S"-word, look out-----if you happen to be near a grocery store, you'll be trampled as everyone races to clean out all the shelves of bread and milk. I wonder why just those 2 items are so attractive? Some take NO chances----the snow might last TWO days, eh?----so those folks load up on everything. NOT a good idea, should there be an ice storm to break lots of smaller trees and tree limbs, which then knock down power lines, causing a power outage long enough for that $300 worth of groceries to rot.

The other thing that happens is that by some unspoken law that even the police don't understand, once accumulation reaches one inch---that's right, one whole inch---ALL traffic signs, signals, and laws are null and void until the snow melts. Especially if you have 4WD. Or even anti-lock brakes. Until 5 years ago, I was a nurse, and 6 years I was in Home Health, and another 7 I was in Hospice. Even before that, the hospital didn't close for bad weather! I had to be there regardless. I grew a 7th sense about lawless 4WD-ers, loaded with bread & milk, ready to mow me down at random intersections!

So good luck out there, and stay safe!
